Generation Morgantown's Dog Fest Canine Classic 5K

Saturday, July 23, 2011 was the Fourth annual Canine Classic 5K run/walk.  Generation Morgantown, a young professional's group, organizes the event (along with other area events) that support and enhance our local Morgantown community. The event raises awareness and support for local organizations who work to increase canine welfare and services around the area.
Proceeds from this year's event were donated to Animal Friends of North Central West Virginia (AFNCWV) and Mon River Trails Conservancy (MRTC). The MRTC develops and manages the Mon River and Deckers Creek Rail-Trails.  Animal Friends is a non-profit shelter that provides refuge, aid and care for unwanted, abandoned and abused animals and attempts to move pets into welcoming adoption and foster families.

Animal Medical Center has been a sponsor of this race since its inception and this year (as a twist) had a team of runners participating.  Pictured to the right are Maria McCabe with Sweet Pea (Dr. Zucker's dog), Emily Ellis with Rae and Jen Zapatocki with Sadie.  Each of our runners and their running partners finished strong and we were happy they were able to participate alongside some of AMC's clients and their pets.  See the picture page for highlights from the day!
