Kids & DogsWelcome to Animal Medical Center

"Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole."  ~Roger Caras

We are dedicated to true excellence in veterinary medicine.

Our mission is to provide the very best primary care veterinary care possible to pets and their families in the Morgantown, WV region. Take a virtual tour of Animal Medical Center!

At Animal Medical Center, we understand that in order to provide your pets with the medical care they need, we must not only provide excellent medical services and have the most capable staff possible, but we also must take the time and care to provide the owners who bring us their pets with thoughtful and respectful client service.

AMC StaffIf you are new to Animal Medical Center, you can find information about our hours, location, and appointments on the Visit Us pages and learn about our doctors, nurses and other staff on the About Us pages.

Our Services pages offer detailed information on many of our services including wellness, dental care, surgery, spay or neuter, adoptions, boarding, and many other services.

Our Forms Library provides many of our most frequently needed hospital forms and information sheets to assist you in scheduling appointments, requesting a prescription refill, requesting a boarding reservation or making other inquiries.

Searchable Pet LibraryFor in-depth research on pet health, our searchable Pet Medical Library has hundreds of veterinarian reviewed articles for reliable information on wellness as well as illness. Current & back issues of our print newsletter the AMC Scoop as well as our e-newsletter the AMC Spoonful are also available on-line.

If you would like more information about our practice or have any questions or comments, please call or e-mail us at your convenience.

We are honored by the trust you place in us by choosing us to provide care for your furry family members. We work hard every day to continue to deserve your confidence and to exceed your expectations.

Our Healthy Pet Adoption Program

No DescriptionWe have three darling kittens ready for homes and three lovable puppies who will be ready this week!

Our Healthy Pet Adoption Program helps match loving families with needy, healthy pets. We provide our adoptive pets with all medically appropriate wellness care while they are in our care. All pets are quarantined for at least 7 days to ensure that they are free of signs of illness before we offer them for placement in a home. Illnesses and parasites we screen and/or treat before release from quarantine include: internal and external parasites (worms, ear mites, fleas, etc.), overall health/illnesses and contagious diseases. In cats, we also screen for feline leukemia and FIV (feline AIDS). In dogs, we also screen for kennel cough and parvovirus.

We provide exams and baths, administer initial doses of appropriate vaccinations, flea and tick medications, dewormers, heart worm preventative and any other medically appropriate care. Of course, every pet gets plenty of TLC!! When your pet goes home with you, he or she may need one or more additional wellness visits (depending on their age and how long they were in our care) to complete their puppy or kitten series of vaccine boosters.

AMC Welcomes Children's Tours

Animal Medical Center toursWe love kids! Our children's "tour" is actually an hour long mock examination, diagnostic plan and surgery. We all have a great time helping our stuffed dog get over his tummy ache (or toothache for the dental themed tour).

We look forward to seeing some of these little veterinarians come back one day with their own DVM diplomas in hand to tell us "I remember when. . ."

We know that to be able to best determine your pet's medical needs, we must first take the time to learn from you about your pet's medical history.

We are always willing to take the time needed to explain your pet's condition and to discuss your options for best caring for your pet.

As an AAHA accredited practice, we adhere to the highest standards of excellence in veterinary medicine. As an AAHA hospital, we voluntarily agree to be inspected on over 900 standards covering everything from Anesthesia to Zoonosis.

AAHA -- the American Animal Hospital AssociationWe are proud to be associated with the "best of the best" who choose AAHA accreditation. Approximately one of every six veterinary hospitals achieves this distinction.

If you have a puppy under 8 months of age, please check out our fun and educational Puppy Preschool. These popular classes provide you and your puppy with a strong foundation of basic training skills as well as health and wellness education.

Puppy & KittenKitten Kindergarten!! If you have a kitten under 13 weeks of age (or will be adopting one soon), please allow our Kitten Kindergarten classes to help your kitten grow up to be a sociable, friendly, playful and well behaved cat. We're very excited about this new program and we believe that just a couple hours of education early in life can make a life-long difference for your cat.
