24/7 Emergency Care

Animal Medical Center will respond to your pet's emergency 24 hours a day & 7 days per week for established clients. Emergency service is available for new clients during business hours.

Call our normal phone number (304) 292-0126 and follow the emergency pager instructions for after hours emergencies.

Established clients can call our emergency number at any time day or night for prompt response by a veterinary nurse who will assess your pet's emergency. Our nurse will call in the veterinarian to meet you at the hospital after-hours to care for your pet if needed.

Many clients feel strongly about wanting their trusted veterinarian to see their pet during an after hours crisis. Unlike many hospitals who refer after hours emergencies to a different emergency clinic with separate staff, no copies of previous medical records, and a new facility to find and get to know, we are pleased to continue to offer after hours emergency service to our clients. We care about you and your pets and we know that having a familiar and trusted veterinarian there for you during an emergency means a lot, so we continue to see our own emergencies as a service to our established clients.

If possible, we advise you to call ahead when you are on your way in with your emergency to make sure the staff and doctor can be prepared to help you immediately when you arrive. We can also advise you on how to stabilize your pet for the trip.

At the very rare times when our veterinary staff is unavailable, a cooperating veterinarian in the area will respond to your emergency or you may be referred to an emergency clinic.
